What’s happening in Dove?

Three members of the National team of Dove attended the CHARIS conference last month.

Several people asked us “What’s happening in Dove now?”

CHARIS Conference Focus

I can only answer that from my own point of view. I live in Hawkes Bay, and I can see parallels between what is happening in our physical landscape, and what is happening in the spiritual realm.

There were some devastating landslides over the past few years, when the National team went from seven members to two, and one year we had nine active Fellowships, the next six, and now only four.

To many of you it feels like we can never recover from this. BUT… God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Psalm 33:11 “ The plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations”. Just like the disciples after the first Easter, we have had a time of meeting together and praying, and waiting on the Lord, seeking His desire for the future of Dove Catholic Fellowship for Women. He has given us a new vision and is leading us step by step to bring it to pass. Here is what He told us, (the National Team) in 2022.

God wants to start Dove all over again with a new generation of women. He says: “Bring the younger ones to me, by giving them the invitation to walk in the power of my Spirit. Then let them come to me in their own ways.”

Dove Fellowship members must become apostolic in all their thinking and decisions, developing an all-consuming desire to spread the gospel to younger women, baptize them in the Holy Spirit, and mentor them to form deep intimate relationships with Jesus Christ.

These are the steps we are taking:

  1. Praying for younger women: In the Fellowships we place the names of younger women who have not yet been baptized in the Holy Spirit, in a box and pray for them every day. The Lord gave us Ephesians 3:14-20 to use for this intercession.
  2. Praying the Proclamation Prayer: God gave us seven scriptures, out of which a prayer was formed. It expresses His plan for us and our desire to be part of it. We are praying it every day, believing it, and expecting God to bring it into being.
  3. Keep praying together: God has shown us that Dove Catholic Fellowship for Women does not have to be only big Fellowships. Where two or more are gathered in His name, He is there. He has given us seven Core Values. Any group of women who desire to meet together and pray, using these core values, can be a Dove group. So the future of Dove may include, small local prayer groups (maybe one in every parish), Café Dove, groups that meet over coffee, Online Dove.

That’s where we are up to right now. We invite you to pray about this, and if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to try a new way of being Dove Catholic Fellowship for Women with a few women you know, please give it a go. The National team would love to hear from you, to support you, and mentor you as you step out of the boat for Jesus. Please use our Contact us button if you would like any more information.
